STILL NOT SURE?

Frequently Asked Questions

We understand. Being unsure of what to do next in your child's care can be difficult. Here are some of the most common questions parents are asking before starting their ABA journey and our honest answers.

What is Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy?

ABA therapy is an evidence-based treatment that focuses on improving socially significant behaviors in individuals with autism and other developmental conditions. It uses the principles of learning and behavior science to teach communication, reduce challenging behaviors, and build everyday skills. ABA is endorsed by the U.S. Surgeon General and the American Psychological Association as the gold standard for autism therapy.

Who can benefit from ABA therapy?

ABA is most commonly used for children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), but it also supports individuals with ADHD, anxiety, developmental delays, and other behavioral challenges. At Revive Behavioral Therapy, we tailor our programs to meet the unique needs of each child and family.

What does a typical ABA session look like?

Each session is individualized based on your child’s behavior plan. Sessions may include structured teaching, play-based learning, social skills practice, and real-life scenario coaching. Sessions can take place in your home, at school, or in the community?

How many hours of therapy will my child need?

Therapy hours are based on a comprehensive assessment by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Most children receive between 15–40 hours per week. The goal is always to provide enough support for meaningful progress while balancing your family’s schedule and goals.

What is a BCBA and what do they do?

A BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst) is a highly trained clinician who designs and oversees your child’s ABA therapy program. They conduct assessments, develop behavior plans, train Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs), and work directly with you to ensure your child’s goals are being met.

What’s the difference between a BCBA and an RBT?

A BCBA is responsible for assessment and treatment planning. An RBT (Registered Behavior Technician) works under the supervision of a BCBA to implement therapy sessions with your child. Both roles are essential for effective, consistent care.

How is progress tracked in ABA therapy?

Data is collected in every session to track progress toward individualized goals. Our BCBAs review this data regularly and adjust the treatment plan to make sure your child continues making meaningful gains.

Can I be involved in my child’s ABA therapy?

Absolutely! Parent training is a critical part of success. We provide hands-on coaching so you feel confident continuing strategies at home, in public, and during daily routines. We’re your partners in your child’s progress.

Where do services take place?

Revive Behavioral Therapy offers services in home, school, and community settings within Manatee County surrounding areas depending on your child’s needs, schedule, and goals. Our flexible delivery model ensures support in the environments where your child learns and grows.
